It's a girl for Jennylyn Mercado, Dennis Trillo

Celebrity couple Jennylyn Mercado and Dennis Trillo revealed to fans the gender of their baby via social media, recently.

The Kapuso stars happily announced that they're having a baby girl.

They deemed the blessing an "answered prayer."

Note the couple originally planned to have a baby via surrogacy.

This changed with Jennylyn learning she's pregnant while at a lock-in taping.

It was a long-time dream for the newlyweds to have a baby and they admitted to praying for it to be a girl.

“Gusto naman namin ng ibang mapaglalaruan, ibang mabibihisan. Lalo na si Jen, tuwang-tuwa siya sa baby girl,” Trillo said in the vlog.

Jennylyn revealed how Dennis even offered eggs to Santa Clara in hopes of their prayer being granted.

The couple and their families had been “manifesting” for a baby girl.

The two have sons from their respective past relationships.

Mercado, 34, has a son with former boyfriend Patrick Garcia, while Trillo, 40, also has a son with former beauty queen Carlene Aguilar.

During the gender reveal event, the guests were given a box with a pot inside. They were asked to eat the cake inside the pot to learn the baby’s gender.

It was later shown to contain a pink chiffon underneath, revealing the baby was a girl.

“Sa wakas magkakababae na tayo,” said Jennylyn.

The reveal happened after their wedding, Nov. 15.
