The agency of Korean actor Gong Yoo, star of the hit zombie movie “Train to Busan,” addressed rumors that he went to lunch with Taylor Swift in New York City.
It began when Instagram gossip account DeuxMoi posted and claimed that Swift had lunch with Jin Goo, star of the Korean drama “Descendants of the Sun.” The account later corrected the post and said it was Gong Yoo who had lunch with her.
Swift’s boyfriend is English actor Joe Alwyn. The lunch rumor turned into a dating rumor between Gong Yoo and Swift and it spread in South Korea.
On Nov. 26, Management Soop, Gong Yoo’s agency, addressed the rumor.
"Gong Yoo is in Korea at the moment. He has not been in NYC for a while; his last visit to NYC was quite a long time ago,” the agency said, according to SBS News.
It added, "Our actor is busy preparing to promote Netflix's series 'The Silent Sea' in Korea. The rumors are not true at all."
“The Silent Sea” stars Gong Yoo, Bae Doona and Lee Joon and will be released on Dec. 24.
“During a perilous 24-hour mission on the moon, space explorers try to retrieve samples from an abandoned research facility steeped in classified secrets,” Netflix described the upcoming Korean series.
