Princess Velasco: Music runs in the family

Sweetest thing we heard this week is Princess Velasco releasing to the public the song that her husband especially made for their wedding, eight years ago. It is now her latest single under GMA Music entitled 'Ang Ating Pag-Ibig' (Our Love).

Princess revealed that she was the first and only girlfriend of her doctor-hubby, Mark Herbert Del Rosario. During their days of courtship, he told her that "God gave you to me as an answered prayer." Thus, he spent time writing the words to the song, which he later performed with his friends during their wedding reception in 2013.

Fast forward to 2021: the blushing bride that was Princess is now singing it in the airwaves. She said she wrote the song's second verse as an answer to what her husband created. Overall, it is an inspirational piece that speaks of lasting love that is loyal, full of faith and endures all the storms.

"It's a very personal song which I want to share with everyone because it is very inspiring," the Acoustic Princess stated.

She admitted that music runs in the family. This same passion she is now passing on to the three young kids she is raising with Mark - two sons named Kobe and Milo and a daughter, Sari who was born last year.

"When my older kids like a song, they listen to it over and over until they memorize it. Kobe is now taking piano lessons too. I won't prevent my kids from doing anything they like, now or in the future. Singing doesn't have to be a career. Like my husband is a doctor, but music is very much a big part of him,"Princess noted.

The lovely Princess also paid tribute to her father Alfredo where she got her musical genes from. Alfredo passed away this month and Princess recalled that she made him so happy when she recorded "The New Born King" in 2020. Her father wrote the words to the song way back in 1964 and it even earned an Awit Awards nomination when it was released.

" Like any other performer, I miss doing live performances, which are missing in this pandemic. I am very much thankful to GMA for this opportunity to record another song which will make me reach out to my followers again and all those who believe in true love," the Kapuso artist enthused.
