The Manila City government received 6,600 tablets of the anti-COVID drug Baricitinib on Friday, Nov. 26.
The drug will be prescribed to patients experiencing moderate to severe COVID-19 symptoms.

The US Food and Drug Administration found that clinical trials conducted on COVID-19 patients treated with Baricitinib in combination with Remdesivir experienced reduced times to recovery within 29 days.
Baricitinib will be available in the six district hospitals in the city -- Sta. Ana Hospital; Ospital ng Maynila; Gat Andres Bonifacio; Justice Jose Abad Santos; Ospital ng Sampaloc; and Ospital ng Tondo, as well as in Manila COVID-19 Field Hospital.
The city government had recently purchased large amounts of anti-COVID medications such as Remdesivir, Tocilizumab, and Molnupiravir.
