The 72-year-old DOST chief said he received the booster dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine on Thursday, Nov. 25, at St Luke’s Quezon City.

“I got vaccinated yesterday at St. Luke’s. Pfizer now after two doses of AstraZeneca,” he told the Manila Bulletin in a Viber message on Friday.

De la Peña received his first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine at the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) on April 8.

“I asked the DOH Vaccination Team if I can have it already. They assisted me,” he said. “I took Paracetamol as advised when I was vaccinated.”

He lauded St Luke’s for the “very orderly” vaccination drive.

De la Peña belongs to A2 Priority Group (senior citizens) in the government’s COVID-19 inoculation program.

Senior citizens and select immunocompromised individuals started receiving their booster shots on Monday, Nov. 22.
