Five men were arrested after operatives of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized from them P240,000 worth of dried marijuana leaves during a buy-bust at North Fairview Park Subdivision in Barangay North Fairview, Quezon City.
Fairview Police Station (PS 5) Station commander Police Lt. Col. Joewie Lucas identified the suspects as Iverson Lagundi alias “Babe”, 19; Randel Selario, 19; John Paul Fernandez, 22; Norman de Guzman, 24; and Earl John Lendio, 21.
According to the police report, the buy-bust operation was launched by PS 5 and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of Quezon City District Field Unit (CIDG-QCDFU) at around 6:10 p.m.
Police recovered from the suspects some two kilos of dried marijuana leaves worth P240,000, a cellular phone, a .38-caliber revolver with six pieces of live ammunition, two eco-bags, one green belt bag, one blue sling bag, and the buy-bust money.
Lagundi, Selario, Fernandez, De Guzman, and Lendio will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The seized pieces of evidence will be submitted to the QCPD Crime Laboratory Office for forensic examination.
