Valenzuela City gov't starts giving booster shots to senior citizens, immunocompromised individuals

The Valenzuela City government has started administering COVID-19 booster shots to senior citizens and immunocompromised residents on Thursday, Nov. 25.

The vaccinations were held in three venues: Wes Arena, Brgy. Punturin; Justice Elieser Delos Santos National High School, and Valenzuela City People's Park Ampitheater.

The vaccination sites are open everyday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except during holidays (Dec. 24 to 26, Dec. 31, 2021, Jan. 1 and 2, 2022).

According to the local government, up to 800 individuals will be vaccinated per day, and a "first come, first serve" policy will be implemented.

Residents must bring their "VCVax Passports" as proof that they are fully vaccinated.

A medical certificate is required for immunocompromized individuals under the A3 group.

Individuals may choose the brand for their booster shots, the availability of which will be announced on their vaccination day.

The local government also started administering booster shots to medical frontliners on Saturday, Nov. 20.

On Nov. 22, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the deployment of booster shots to the A1 and A2 priority groups.
