The search for the next Metrobank Foundation outstanding Filipinos begins

The Search for the next batch of Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos commences as Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (MBFI) launched the 2022 Award thru a virtual event on November 5, 2021. The annual excellence recognition program honors exemplary Filipino teachers, soldiers, and police officers whose contributions in their professional service and respective communities are worthy of emulation.

Ten Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos composed of four teachers, three soldiers, and three police officers will be awarded with a cash prize of P1 million each net of tax, a golden medallion, and “The Flame.”

The awardees embody the meaning of “Beyond Excellence” for rendering service above and beyond their call of duty thereby influencing their peers and sectors. Their accomplishments and community involvements have helped shape a better society as well as created a lasting positive impact upon the people.

The call for nominations for the 2022 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos is now open. The search continues for the next batch of Filipino exemplars whose accomplishments go beyond excellence. All qualified Filipino teachers, soldiers, and police officers are invited to join.

“Comprising the majority of the Philippine bureaucracy, these three sectors proved to be very essential especially in this time of the pandemic,” said Metrobank Foundation President Aniceto Sobrepeña. “Despite the challenges of holding online classes, teachers spark hope and joy in the hearts of the learners by injecting various innovations; ensuring that online classes foster a conducive learning environment. Moreover, soldiers and police officers hold the line to ensure public health and safety despite knowing that their own health is at risk.”

The successful launch was supported by the heads of program partners, namely Honorable Leonor Magtolis Briones, Secretary of the Department of Education; Commissioner J. Prospero De Vera III, Chairperson of the Commission on Higher Education; General Jose C. Faustino, Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines; Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar, Chief of the Philippine National Police; Mr. Jasper Chua, President of Rotary Club of Makati Metro; Mr. Michael Ryan Dela Cruz, President of Rotary Club of New Manila East; and Mr. Jose Vicente Alde, President of the Philippine Savings Bank.

“Metrobank Foundation has always led the way and I’m very happy to be part of this exercise which involves the Commission on Higher Education, the Philippine National Police, and the Armed Forces of the Philippines as you launch the program. I hope that you reach more and more Filipinos who are serving the people. More and more ordinary Filipinos who are risking their lives and their careers, putting themselves on the line,” shared Secretary Briones.
