San Juan LGU leads barangay hall groundbreaking; distributes year-end bonus to employees

The San Juan City local government held on Thursday, Nov. 25, the groundbreaking rites for one of its infrastructure projects that aim to further improve its services to its residents.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora together with his sister Atty. Bel Zamora, Vice Mayor Warren Villa, and other city government officials led the groundbreaking of Barangay Maytunas' newest multi-purpose barangay hall.

Zamora said the 4-storey barangay hall will feature a roof deck and a wooden covered basketball half court. The project's total cost is P50 million.

He added that the structure will drastically improve barangay services to its residents especially amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The city government also announced on Wednesday, Nov. 24 that employees of the city hall and San Juan Medical Center (SJMC) may now claim their year-end bonus.

Zamora expressed his gratitude to all personnel who helped the city government in its efforts to address all the San Juaneños' concerns during the pandemic.

The mayor said that as of Nov. 21, the city only has 29 active COVID-19 cases. This is the lowest number of cases recorded since March 2020 equivalent to a 97 percent decline from the city’s recorded cases of 1,123 last Sept. 16.
