Las Pinas gov’t distributes bikes, cash to displaced workers

The Las Pinas City government distributed on Thursday bicycles, cash, and cellular phones to displaced workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Paul San Miguel, head of the Public Information Office (PIO), said the bicycles were given during the conduct of “Duterte Legacy: Barangayanihan Caravan towards National Recovery” at the Mayor Nene Aguilar DRRMO Building.

San Miguel said the beneficiaries of Bikecination under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantage/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) also received cellular phones and P5,000 each which they can use to start a business.

He said the 100 residents who attended the caravan were given food packs, medicines and vitamins from the city government.

Councilors Danilo Hernandez and Ruben Ramos attended the activity to show support to the police for their hard work in the implementation of peace and order.

San Miguel said the local police were able to discipline the residents, especially in following the guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
