K-pop boy band Pentagon’s Kino diagnosed with COVID-19


After BLACKPINK’s Lisa, a member of K-pop boy band Pentagon has tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) amid a surge in new cases in South Korea.

“Kino of Pentagon tested positive for COVID-19 today (the 25th),” announced Cube Entertainment, the idol group’s agency.

According to the agency, “On the 24th, an instructor who visits the building of CUBE Entertainment tested positive for COVID-19, and as a preemptive measure, all who entered the building including the employees conducted the PCR test.”

“Accordingly, Kino of Pentagon tested positive for COVID-19 today (the 25th) and has taken measures according to the guidelines of the health authority,” added Cube.

It said that “although Pentagon members Jinho, Hongseok, Shinwon, Yeone, Yanan, Yuto and Wooseok tested negative, we will determine their participation in future activities in accordance with the health authority's quarantine guidelines.”

“We will comply with the health authority's quarantine regulations and dedicate our best efforts to ensuring our artists' health and safety,” it said.

On Nov. 24, YG Entertainment announced that Lisa tested positive for COVID-19 and the three other members of the group underwent testing.

The agency announced on Nov. 25 that BLACKPINK’s Jennie, Jisoo and Rosé all tested negative for COVID-19.

South Korea recorded 3,938 new cases of COVID-19 on Nov. 25 to bring the total confirmed cases to 429,002.
