The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed tax evasion cases against three business operators and a corporation for alleged refusal to settle tax debts totalling to more than P30 million.
In separate criminal complaints submitted to Department of Justice, Revenue Deputy Commissioner for Legal Group Marissa Cabreros identified the respondents as Arthur V. Bautista of Natividad, Nueva Ecija; Oliver M. Tan of Cagayan de City and Rebecca S. Carisma of Pangantucan, Bukidnon.
The lone corporate taxpayer was Litespeed Construct of Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan.
The president and owner of the said company were also included in the charge sheets.
Cabreros said the complaints were filed after the accused repeatedly refused to settle the liabilities incurred in 2014 and prior years.
She said assessment and collection letters were sent to the accused, but were ignored.
