Pasig City conducts simulation of onsite classes

The Pasig City local government conducted a dry run for onsite elementary classes on Wednesday, Nov. 24.

According to Mayor Vico Sotto, the dry run was held at Pasig Elementary School with consent from the students and their parents.

Sotto expounded further during an interview with CNN on Nov. 24 that a total of 27 students in two classes, one in Grade 1 and one in Grade 2, participated in the simulation.

The Department of Education (DepED) had set Dec. 6 as the target date for the pilot resumption of onsite classes.

Four Pasig schools are set to participate in the pilot — Pasig Elementary School; Nagpayong Elementary School; Francisco Legaspi Memorial School; and Pasig Ugong National High School.

Meanwhile, the three other schools Nagpayong Elementary School; Francisco Legaspi Memorial School; and Pasig Ugong National High School, are going through the validation and inspection process process in order to conduct their own simulation before Dec. 6.

As for university-level classes, Sotto added that only Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health applied for face-to-face classes months before and that no other universities applied.
