DAR distributes P10.6-M agri equipment to Pangasinan farmers
A total of P10.6 million worth of agricultural equipment have been recently turned over by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to several farmers in Pangasinan as part of the agency's efforts to give farmers decent lives.
Newly-installed DAR Secretary Bernie Cruz led the distribution of various farm machinery and equipment worth P9.2 million and farm inputs worth P1.45 to 610 agrarian reform beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries are members of 17 organizations from the towns of Agno, Aguilar, Alaminos City, Balungao, Bani, Bautista, Bayambang, Dasol, San Carlos, San Jacinto, Sison, Sta. Barbara, Umingan, Urbiztondo and Villasis.

Cruz said that aside from land distribution and delivery of agrarian justice, the agency is also tasked to provide support services to improve the economic lives of its beneficiaries and organization.
"These support interventions are part of a continuing activity of the department to boost the livelihood of our ARBs, thus an improvement in their farm income," he said.
Cruz noted that farmers, being the country’s front liners in providing food security, deserve to be dignified, which could be done through the government’s support.
The recent support services projects that the agency distribute include five units of 4-WD farm tractors, two units of pick-up trucks, five units of hand tractors, five units of engine pumps, two units of motorcycles with kolong-kolong, 610 units of knapsack sprayers and various farm inputs composed of hundreds of bags and sacks of fertilizers, herbicides, insecticides and farm seeds.
