Leni, Kiko hold joke session; ask supporters to spread joy, happiness
Who doesn’t love a good—albeit corny—joke?
Presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate, Senator Kiko Pangilinan, took to Facebook on Tuesday, Nov. 23, to throw in some “dad jokes” around and ask their fellow “kakampinks” to spread joy and make other people happy.

This was the first time that Pangilinan appeared in one of Robredo’s videos for #KakampinkWednesdays, a weekly activity for Team Robredo-Pangilinan (TROPA) wherein the Vice President throws in a challenge to her supporters and volunteers.
Kakampink is a combination of the words “kakampi (ally)” and “pink,” the campaign color of Robredo.
“Talagang hindi biro magmahal pero puwede nating ipakita ang pagmamahal sa pagbibiro. Sa paglalagay ng ngiti sa mukha ng kapwa natin (It’s really not easy to love but we can show love by telling jokes. In putting smiles on our fellowmen’s faces),” Robredo said.
“Bukas, Miyerkules na naman. Nakahanda na ang pink shirt ko at dagdag sa pagsuot ng pink, ang panawagan namin sa inyo: Magdala ng tuwa at kasiyahan sa ating kapwa (Tomorrow, it is Wednesday again. My pink shirt is ready but aside from wearing pink, our call to you all is: Bring laughter and joy to our fellowmen),” Pangilinan added.
But as a special request because of Pangilinan, the aspiring president asked her kakampinks to make their parents smile on Wednesday.

“Pangitiin ang mga magulang ninyo. Kayo naman ang mag-joke. Ipagluto sila ng paboritong pagkain. Sabihin nang diretso: Mahal natin sila (Make your parents smile. It’s your time to make jokes. Cook their favorite food. Tell them directly: We love them),” she said, adding that she’s excited to hear her daughters’ jokes.
The senator suggested that supporters can take a video of their parents as they tell their jokes and upload the videos on social media using the hashtag #KakampinkWednesdays, so they can share the laughter with others.
“At kami, tayo po, araw-araw sa nakikita naming pagkukusa po ninyo, napapangiti rin kami, dahil ramdam namin ng pagmamahal ninyong mga kakampink at ng ating mga kababayan (And us, because we see you volunteering every day, you make us smile, too, because we can feel your love kakampinks and our fellowmen),” Pangilinan said.

He shared that he’s the butt of jokes in his own household because his children think he is “corny.”
Just how corny is the senator? He gave Robredo a sample.
“Ano mg paboritong kinakain na gulay ng ating mga kakampink (What is the favorite vegetables of kakampinks)?” he asked the Vice President.
Laughing, Pangilinan answered “PINKnakbet.”
Robredo quipped that it is true what Pangilinan’s children say about him—he really tells the corniest jokes.
Pangilinan said that if he doesn’t win as vice president, he might just join his wife, actress-singer Sharon Cuneta, in showbiz.
“Ang magiging screen name ko (My screen name would be Kiko Funny-lingan,” he said in jest.
