Bulacan starts giving booster shots to frontliners

The Bulacan Provincial Health Office (PHO) has started giving COVID-19 booster shots to its healthcare workers in its efforts toachieve herd immunity by inoculating at least 2.7 million Bulakenyos.

The PHO said the rollout of the booster shots for medical frontliners started on Nov. 18 at the Provincial Vaccination Site, Hiyas ng Bulacan Convention Center, City of Malolos.

It also reported that from March 8 to November 18, 2021, the Provincial Government of Bulacan (PGB) has received a total of 3,316,486 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from the national government composed of Sinovac (1,491,536); Pfizer (968,760), AstraZeneca (376,426), Moderna (281,984), Janssen (113,500), and Sinopharm (84,280).

Out of the 3,316,486 doses of COVID-19 vaccines, the PHO said they had administered a total of 2,675,067 COVID-19 vaccines with 1,506,821 getting their first dose and 1,168,246 who have been fully vaccinated which is equivalent to 43 percent of the 70 percent or 2,596,146 coverage of the eligible population in the province of Bulacan.

On Nov. 21, 500 minors with ages 12 to 17 years received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccines at the Starmall in the City of San Jose Del Monte (CSJDM) from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
