Team Secret’s all-Filipino Valorant squad has finally arrived in Berlin, Germany a week before the Valorant Champions 2021 which is set to fire off Dec. 1
The crew composed of Jessie “JessieVash” Cuyco, Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan, Jim “BORKUM” Timbreza, Kevin “Dispenser” Te and Riley “Witz” Go safely landed in Berlin on Monday, Nov. 22.
The Filipino quintet finally made it to the European host city after initially missing its chance when the crew, then under the Bren Esports banner, failed to fly and join the Valorant Champions Tour 3 – Berlin Masters due to some issues with travel requirements.
Now, finally having the chance to don the country’s colors in Berlin, Team Secret vowed to make the Southeast Asia region proud in the crowning tournament of Valorant pro scene this year.
“Touchdown! We will make SEA proud at the Valorant Champions! LABAN PINAS,” said Team Secret in a post.
Interestingly, Team Secret is set to make its debut on Dec. 2 against Gambit Esports from the CIS region which ruled the Berlin Masters last September.
The Gilbert "Gibo" Sales Jr.-mentored team was also joined by South American crew Team Viking and Japanese squad Crazy Racoon in Group C.
Group stage will be in a double-elimination format which means the teams need to win twice to advance to the knockout stages and losing twice means an early exit from the tournament as only the top two teams in each group will advance to the knockout rounds.
Every match will be in a best-of-three affair in the group stage.
The eight qualified teams will then battle it out in a single-elimination bracket in the playoffs with matches being in a best-of-three series except the Grand Finals which will be in a best-of-five showdown.
