The Taguig City government has vaccinated more than 22,000 minors aged 12 to 17 years old who are residents or non-residents and are studying in Taguig.
Taguig started vaccinating minors on Oct. 25, and as of Nov. 18, a total of 22,112 children have received their first dose based on data provided by the Taguig Vaccination Task Force as reported by the city government.
Among the 22,112 minor first-dose recipients, 1,486 have received their second dose.
In total, the Taguig City government has administered 23,598 COVID-19 vaccine jabs to minors in the city.
In Taguig, minors with comorbidities, or classified under Pediatric A3 group, and those without comorbidities are vaccinated at the Medical Center Taguig and St. Luke’s Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City.
Those without comorbidities are vaccinated at Lakeshore Mega Vaccination Hub, Bonifacio High Street Mega Vaccination Hub, RP Cruz Elementary School, and Western Bicutan National High School.
According to the 2015 Census of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Taguig has 86,972 minors aged 12 to 17 years old.
Comorbidities allowed for the vaccination of minors are medical complexity, genetic conditions, neurologic conditions, metabolic/endocrine diseases, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, HIV infections, tuberculosis, chronic respiratory diseases, renal disorder, hepatobiliary diseases and immunocompromised state due to disease or treatment.
The requirements for the vaccination of minors in Taguig are TRACE QR code, valid ID, proof of residence (for Taguig residents), proof of enrollment (for non-residents studying in Taguig), and medical certificate (for those with comorbidities).
The parent or guardian must have a valid ID, proof of filiation (birth certificate, special power of attorney or school ID bearing the name of the child and the parent or guardian).
The country's Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for use in people 12 years old and above.
