Perlas Spikers smash Lady Highlanders in Champs League

The Tuguegarao Perlas Spikers thrashed the Baguio Lady Highlanders, 25-10, 25-5, 25-14, Monday in the Philippine National Volleyball Federation Champions League at the Aquamarine Recreational Center in Lipa City, Batangas.

The Perlas Spikers needed a little over an hour in disposing of the Lady Highlanders to post their second win in three outings.

Jho Maraguinot came off the bench and finished with 10 points built on six aces for the Perlas Spikers, while Czarina Carandang and Joy Doromal combined for 14 kills and posted nine and eight points.

Tuguegarao took advantage of Baguio’s lethargic defense by hammering down 33 kills and smashing 16 aces.

Baguio struggled throughout by managing only seven kills, one block and two aces, while giving up 25 points on errors.

None from the Highlanders scored more than four points with Mary Rose Carino finishing with only three points. Stephanie Torres, Mary Ann Atuban, Cherry Atuban, Rhaetia Pilo, Blesie Royo, Alyssa Villasenor and Joan Maddatu contributed one point each.

Baguio fell to its second straight defeat.
