Celebrities wish Joross Gamboa's fast recovery

Several celebrities extended their well-wishes to actor Joross Gamboa who announced via social media that he'll be undergoing surgery.

"Getting ready for my Achilles operation! Godbless everyone! Praying for a smooth operation and a quick recovery in Jesus Name! (Praying sign emoji) also special thanks sa aking pinakamamahal na asawa @katz_gamboa sa pagpaparanas sakin ng 10(star emoji)ï¸ na pagaalag! Labyu!," he wrote last Nov. 21 on Instagram.

Among celebrities who prayed for Joross' full and fast recovery were Derek Ramsay, Adrian Alandy, Jason Abalos Vhong Navarro, Wendell Ramos, Iza Calzado, and JC de Vera.

According to the official website of Mayo clinic, Achilles tendon rupture is an injury that affects the back of one's lower leg. It mainly occurs in people playing recreational sports, but it can happen to anyone.

They said the procedure generally involves making an incision in the back of the lower leg and stitching the torn tendon together. Depending on the condition of the torn tissue, the repair might be reinforced with other tendons.

After the surgery, they'll have physical therapy exercises to strengthen their leg muscles and Achilles tendon, they continued. Most people return to their former level of activity within four to six months.

They reiterated the importance of continuing strength and stability training after surgery because some problems can persist for up to a year.
