TANZA, Cavite – One person died and five others were hurt after two vehicles fell over Obispo Bridge which is undergoing repair along Antero Soriano Highway here.
Tanza Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) rescuer Don Simon told the Manila Bulletin that the first accident happened at 10:55 p.m. on Nov. 21. The driver and two passengers obtained minor injuries.
The second accident followed a few hours later at 5:25 a.m. on Nov. 22. One died and two were hurt in the second accident.
The injured victims were taken to Tanza Specialists Medical Center.
Balitang Tanzeño, the local government unit's (LGU) official online news outfit, said that the municipal government is offering its condolences to the families of the accident victims.
"Iniimbestigahan na ng pulisya kung may pananagutan ang DPWH (Department of Public Works and Highways) at contractor na gumagawa sa tulay dahil umano sa kakulangan ng early warning device at signages (The police are already investigating if the Department of Public Works and Highways and the contractor are liable due to the alleged lack of early warning device and signages)," the Balitang Tanzeño's Facebook post read.
The accident resulted in heavy traffic in the area.
