A blessing that happened on air

In a Facebook post by Cielo Villaluna, Philippine Airlines Spokesperson, the cabin crew of Doha to Manila flight PR685 encountered an emergency on board. The result? A beautiful healthy baby girl.

"Purser Ruby del Rosario managed her cabin crew team. Flight attendant (FA) Merian Buan Ventura, flight steward (FS) Philip King Aguilar (both registered nurses), together with FS Marc Anthony Cue, FS Clinton Ros, FA Ann Claire Reboron, and FS Scarlett Mercado all worked together in handling the inflight birth of Scarlett Ann," she posted.

They were able to ask permission from the mother, Teresa May Buiza, who named her baby after the FAs who helped her give birth. "Baby Scarlett Ann was born at 7:20 a.m. two and half hours before arriving in Manila."

A330 Captain Raniel Viola flew the plane with 320 passengers on board. "A proud moment for the flag carrier," ends Villaluna.
