The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is this year’s recipient of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Award.

In a Facebook post, DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña said the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) has recognized the DOST “as one of the awardees in the 2021 Freedom of Information (FOI) Awards under the FOI Champion for Department Category.”
He said the award will be conferred on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021 during the celebration of the fifth year implementation of the FOI Program in the Philippines.
“The FOI Philippines Awards aims to recognize the efforts of government agencies, individuals, and organizations that contributed to the development and progress of the FOI program,” de la Peña said.
“The said awards have been given to exemplary government agencies since the issuance of Executive Order No. 2 on 23 July 2016 to operationalize the People’s Constitutional Right to Information and the state policies to full public disclosure and transparency in public service.”
