Lacson goes to Pagasa Island amid Chinese Coast Guard water cannoning protest
Partido Reporma chairman and standard-bearer Sen. Panfilo “Ping” Lacson on Saturday, Nov. 20 departed from the Puerto Princesa City International Airport on his way to Pag-asa Island for a scheduled visit in the area.

Pag-asa Island is located some 508 kilometers away from mainland Palawan and is within the jurisdiction of the municipality of Kalayaan. It is the second largest island in the disputed Spratlys archipelago in the West Philippine Sea.
`Also onboard a private Pilatus aircraft carrying with Lacson are Partido Reporma president and former House Speaker Pantaleon ‘Bebot’ Alvarez, secretary-general and Davao del Norte Gov. Edwin Jubahib, senatorial candidate and former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Guillermo Eleazar, spokesperson Ashley ‘Ace’ Acedillo, as well as former Interior Secretary and National Unity Party chairman Ronaldo Puno.
Lacson is the incumbent chairman of the Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, Peace, Unification and Reconciliation.
`He is expected to get a briefing from the AFP WesCom on issues concerning the West Philippine Sea (WPS) as well as talk to the fisherfolk in Pag-asa Island.
