Kris Aquino to Herbert Bautista: 'There's no need to use our past to gain attention'

Kris Aquino has penned an open letter for Senatorial aspirant and former Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista.

This, after the actor-politician was "confronted" by her fiance, former Secretary of the Interior and Local Government Mel Sarmiento, talking about their past on social media.

She told the senatorial aspirant, "Mahaba ang pinagsamahan natin. Sana wag mo na lang baguhin pa ang kwento?"

She then spilled a bit of tea contradicting Herbert's statement that he didn't know about Kris' engagement to Mel.

She wrote: "July 21, bilang respeto- sana naman natatandaan mo yung sinulat ko sa birthday/goodbye gift letter na personal kong inabot sa yo nung May 12, 2021- nasabi ko dun “we both deserve our versions of ME AFTER YOU” kaya nung alam na ng puso ko that it was Mel, i messaged you to ask if we could talk. Right away ikaw ang tumawag. Magaan ang usapan BUT i did tell you, BEFORE i told anybody else, that my version of ME AFTER YOU had already begun."

Kris also noted how it's "common knowledge" that Herbert is now in a "new relationship with a beautiful girlfriend."

"So if you need to talk about your love life, please talk about your present, not your past," she asked.

"After 7 years of trying but not succeeding, siguro naman kilala mo na ang ugali ko. Kaya kong dumedma kung ako ang ginagamit o naaapakan BUT foul when it’s someone i love & value (in this instance my very soon to be husband na hindi ka naman ginulo o inagrabyado) then papalag ako. i totally agree with what he said especially because sa survey na nakita ko, within striking distance ka na sa Magic 12- so there’s no need to use our past to gain attention," Kris continued.

She then advised Herbert to simply "trust" that "your track record is more than enough to get you elected and have enough faith in the wisdom of the Filipino voters."

In the same post, Kris reiterated her and Mel's relationship isn't a "perfect" one.

But then again, she deemed her brother, late President Benigno Aquino III, as their "great matchmaker."

"Na i’m sure is smiling right now in heaven saying- “si Mel lang pala ang kinailangan para matuto si bunso kung kailan dapat tumahimik”..."

Kris also said: "I’ve often been accused na mahilig magpapansin... But i do hope you’ve noticed the changes in me. My last post was on November 8, and today is November 20. My reason is simple- Mel is still adjusting to life w/ me and i’ve learned my lessons the hard way- the less you share, the better. Kung huhusgahan ka, kasalanan mo na yan kasi pwede naman mamili kung ano ang para sa inyo lang. At the end of this Manila Bulletin article it stated that no wedding date has been set. Actually one has, but we’re keeping that for ourselves... Sobrang simpleng event na magugulat talaga kayo. Definitely, walang “princess intan” moment."
