Top Filipino players in the running for B.League All-Star spots

Several Filipino players like brothers Kiefer and Thirdy Ravena, Ray Parks Jr., Kobe Paras and Dwight Ramos could take part in the B.League All-Star event slated mid-January in Okinawa, Japan.

Filipino cagers are expected to see action for the team of foreign cagers under the Asian Player Quota rule against the B.League’s top young players in the Asia Rising Star Game on Jan. 14 at the Okinawa Arena.

Fan voting has also started for the All-Star Game between the B.Black and B.White on the following day at the same venue.

The Ravenas, Parks, Paras, Ramos, Javi Gomez de Liano and Matthew Aquino are among the Filipinos who could play for the Asia All-Stars in the Rising Stars Game.

Thirdy, meanwhile, pulled out of last year’s All-Star Game that was eventually cancelled after fracturing his finger in early-January.

Players from Kiefer’s Shiga Lakestars, Paras’ Albirex Niigata can be selected for the Black team.

The White squad can come from Ramos’ Toyama Grouses, Parks’ Nagoya Diamond Dolphins, Thirdy’s San-En Neophoenix, Aquino’s Shinshu Brave Warriors and Gomez de Liano’s Ibaraki Robots.
