LPA off Bohol brings scattered rains over Visayas, parts of Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) off Tagbilaran City in Bohol will likely bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas and some parts of Mindanao in the next few hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 2.

PAGASA weather specialist Ariel Rojas said the LPA has a slim chance of intensifying into a tropical depression as it may dissipate within 12 to 36 hours.

Its location was estimated at 45 kilometers southeast of Tagbilaran City at around 3 p.m.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over Visayas, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga del Sur.

Meanwhile, the rest of Mindanao may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

PAGASA advised those in Visayas and Mindanao to remain alert against possible flash floods or landslides, especially during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have generally fair weather conditions with partly cloudy to cloudy skies and isolated light rains.

Slightly lower daytime temperatures are also possible in some Luzon areas due to the prevalence of the northeast monsoon or "amihan."

Rojas said PAGASA has not monitored a tropical cyclone that may form or affect the country in the next two to three days.
