Rabiya Mateo on ex-BF Neil Salvacion: 'If he needs me, I'm gonna be there as a friend'

There is no bad blood between Rabiya Mateo and her ex-boyfriend Neil Salvacion.

This, even after Neil seemingly used Rabiya’s name while auditioning to be part of a show prior, maintaining the beauty queen left him for the Miss Universe Crown.

In a recent interview, Rabiya related that Neil already apologized for it and that they remain friends.

"Hindi basta-basta pinagdaanan namin. But now, I know he's happy. I am happy. I'm happy kung saan kami ngayon," she said.

Rabiya maintained the relationship didn’t work simply because they lost their connection.

"It has nothing to do with the years that you are together, but it's the kind of connection na you guys are on the same page all the time. Kasi it's gonna be hard if you wanna do this, if you wanna take Path A, if you wanna take Path B, and you're not meeting in the middle. So, I guess, it's also God's gift if you're gonna meet the same person who shares the same values, who understands your responsibility. Alam ko andaming opinion, and for them it was a tragic love story, but for us, it was a lesson learned."

In any case, she vowed: "Kahit anong ibato ng tao for the both of us, alam ko po na he's my best friend. Hindi rin madali yung seven years na pinagsamahan namin. If he needs me, I'm gonna be there as a friend."
