Quiboloy camp dismisses US charges as 'vicious attempt to bring down' church leader
DAVAO CITY - The camp of Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy, founding leader of The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name, said the charges lodged against him was "another vicious attempt to bring down" the church leader.
"Once again, another vicious attempt to bring down Pastor Apollo C. Quiboloy and some of the Kingdom leaders has been organized just recently in the United States, but The Kingdom of Jesus Christ, The Name Above Every Name and all its followers remain steadfast and committed to faithfully respond to its mission, its ministry and its divine calling despite all the detraction efforts made against them," the statement signed by Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) Legal Counsel said on Monday, Nov. 19.
The statement added that those who were accusing Quiboloy in California "are the same dissidents who miserably failed in their attempt to bring Pastor Quiboloy into the case in Hawaii."
"We are confident and ready to face whatever is hurled against Pastor Quiboloy and the Kingdom leaders. We trust the process of justice and we certainly expect the truth to prevail, and the Kingdom ministry will continue to prosper," it said.
"With the growing ministry and followers of the Kingdom comes also the growing opposition who are trying their best to destroy it and all the Kingdom leaders," it added.
It said the KJC started in 1985 with only 15 members. However, according to its website, KJC now has six million members "in 200 countries and 2,000 cities all over the world."
"Because the Lord had blessed it so much and with the extraordinary leadership of Pastor Apollo, this Kingdom has grown over the years. Millions of people became followers and millions of children have been reached, helped and shown the love of God," KJC added.
The members of KJC also expressed support for President Duterte's close friend.
"Our heart goes to Pastor Quiboloy and to all the Kingdom leaders who were maliciously accused in this present controversy. People may have tried to silence Pastor Quiboloy, but they cannot put down the Kingdom nation," it said.
