Private companies cannot administer booster shots yet for their employees using excess vaccines----DOH

The Department of Health (DOH) reminded private companies that they cannot use their excess coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccines as booster shots for their respective employees at this point in time.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that booster shots are only recommended for healthcare workers, senior citizens, and select immunocompromised individuals as indicated under the emergency use authorizations (EUA) given by the Food and Drug Administration.
So far, the administration of booster doses was now allowed for healthcare workers.
“Now as to the companies which have ordered or procured additional doses, hindi po kayo pinapayagan para ibigay yan as booster doses (you are not allowed to give that as booster doses) to your employees not unless they are part of the senior citizens or they are part of this list of immunocompromised states na nakalagay sa EUA (listed in the EUA). Other than that, hindi pa po natin pwedeng gawin yan (we can't do that yet),” she said on Friday, Nov. 19.
Vergeire urged private companies to have a “loan agreement” with the national government if they have near-expiry coronavirus vaccines.
“I advise private companies na meron pa ring sobra na mga bakuna sa inyong mga kumpanya, kung sa tingin ninyo ito ay magiging wastage na o mag-eexpire (that still have excess vaccines that are nearing its expiry date), you can undertake this loaning agreement from the national government kung saan ang national government ay pumapayag na kunin muna ang mga doses na nasa inyo at papalitan namin yan ng fresh stocks kapag kailangan niyo na diyan sa inyong kumpanya (wherein the national government will take first the doses you have and we will replace them with fresh stocks once your company already needs it),” said the DOH spokesperson.
