Muntinlupa City’s active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases continued to decline and remained below 100 in the last eight days.
Based on data by the Muntinlupa City Health Office (CHO), as of Nov. 18, Muntinlupa’s active COVID-19 cases stood at 68 including seven new cases out of 27,554 confirmed cases, 26,909 recoveries and 577 deaths since last year.
Since Nov. 11, Muntinlupa’s daily active cases remained below 100. There were 90 active cases on Nov. 11 followed by 98 on Nov. 12, 93 on Nov. 13, 91 on Nov. 14, 78 on Nov. 15, 80 on Nov. 16, 72 on Nov. 17 and 68 on Nov. 18.
In eight days from Nov. 11 to 18, Muntinlupa recorded 57 new COVID-19 cases, 75 recoveries and four deaths.
In a report by OCTA Research for the National Capital Region (NCR) published on Nov. 19, Muntinlupa is ranked fourth with the lowest ADAR (average daily attack rate), or COVID-19 incidence, among the local government units (LGUs) in Metro Manila.
According to the report, Muntinlupa’s ADAR is 1.46, or the number of new daily cases per 100,000 from Nov. 12 to 18.
Muntinlupa’s average daily COVID-19 cases stood at eight from Nov. 12 to 18, a steep decline of 64 percent from the period Nov. 5 to 11. Its infection rate, or reproduction number, is 0.42. Overall, OCTA Research classified Muntinlupa as low risk based on ADAR, incidence, healthcare utilization rate and positivity rate.
As Nov. 14, a total 332,883 individuals in Muntinlupa have been fully vaccinated, or 86.3 percent of Muntinlupa’s target population of 385,725, which is 70 percent of the estimated total population of 551,036.
The Muntinlupa City government has also vaccinated 14,624 minors aged 12 to 17 years old with the first dose and 300 with the second dose as of Nov. 17.
The first-dose recipients are equivalent to 26 percent of the total population of 55,391 of minors 12 to 17 years old in Muntinlupa.
