Multinational feed company inaugurates new production line in the Philippines

Agriculture plays a relevant role in the Philippine economy. Many Filipinos rely on farming as a source of livelihood, but farming isn’t limited to growing crops. It involves raising livestock for their meat and other resources. As a result, livestock farmers provide the animals in their care with the proper requirements and feeds to aid their growth.

ADM (Archer-Daniels-Midland) Company, an animal nutrition global leader and a multinational food processing corporation, saw the demand for animal feeds that not are not only nutritious but also increase the productivity of livestock.

The company inaugurated its new Wisium premix production line in San Rafael, Bulacan on November 17, Wednesday. The production line is expected to produce animal health advancements, employment opportunities, and industry productivity.

“The opening of our Wisium premix line further strengthens our position in the industry to help farmers achieve their goal of growing safe and healthy animals by providing them the best nutrition available,” said Eski Esquivel, the industrial business director of ADM Philippines.

Michael Pasco, the premix director of ADM Philippines, added that the new premix line will enable Wisium to offer products such as micro and macro premix, a wide range of premixes customized for each species, their life stage, and customer needs, near-infrared technologies to farmers in the country.

Wisium’s nutritional advantage

Since Wisium is dedicated to meeting the needs of local farmers engaged in livestock raising, the premix line tapped into the expertise of both local and foreign nutritionists so they can quickly and efficiently address customers’ demands.

“We also have services to test that the raw materials we are using are above standard. We want to make sure that the end products that clients receive are the of best nutritional requirements and quality for optimum growth of the animals,” Esquivel said.

He added that the product line is currently developing additives included in the premixes are of great benefit to farmers. For example, one of the additives in Wisium’s chicken feeds is meant to prolong the productivity of egg-laying hens, thus increasing the farmers’ income. The additives are made from natural materials so farmers don’t have to worry about giving their animals feeds that contain chemicals.

The feed premix company also uses an automated system in creating their products to remain consistent throughout their operations.

Although farmers and other stakeholders need to pay a higher price compared to the products already available in the market, Wisium promises that the quality of its products and services will equip farmers with the right approach to securing the health of their livestock and weathering out the challenges in the agriculture industry.

Wisium’s premix products are already available in the market, but the production of customized premixes for Filipino farmers will happen soon in its Bulacan branch.

Through Wisium’s premix product line, ADM opened new opportunities for local farmers and the Philippines' agriculture industry. Their products not only provide customizable feeds that cater to the different needs of animals during various stages in their growth but also an avenue for farmers to earn more from their livestock.
