Lakas-CMD revokes CONA of controversial Pharmally executive running for Congress
The Lakas-CMD party on Friday, Nov. 19 revoked the Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) it issued to businesswoman Rose Nono-Lin, a congressional candidate who became controversial over her testimony about the luxury cars she owned during the Senate blue ribbon hearings on the Pharmally Pharmaceuticals scandal.

Quezon City First District Rep. Anthony Peter “Onyx” D. Crisologo, Lakas- CMD chairman for the National Capital Region, filed the revocation/withdrawal of CONA before the Law Department of the Commission on Elections.
The move rendered Lin partyless in her congressional bid in the fifth legislative district of Quezon City. It will be recalled that Lin had given a controversial testimony during the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee hearing of the Pharmally scandal when questioned by Senator Richard Gordon about the luxury cars registered under her name.
“Natagpuan ko po iyan sa garahe po namin dahil hindi po ako mahilig sa sasakyan. Okay na po sa akin basta po tumatakbo at may masakyan po ako papunta sa opisina (I just found it in our garage because I am not fond of vehicles. It’s fine with me so long as the car can take me to the office),” she quipped when asked by Gordon about the P8.8 million Lexus she allegedly owned.
Lin, it was revealed, is a stockholder of a sister company of Pharmally, the firm that cornered billions of pesos in COVID-19 supply purchases made by the Department of Budget Management-Procurement Service in 2020.
She has been described as a business partner of Michael Yang, a former presidential economic adviser who is now being implicated in the Pharmally scandals.
“The Party received information that one of the local candidates of Lakas-CMD in Quezon City, Ms. Rose Nono Lin, submitted her resignation from the party yesterday,” the Lakas-CMD statement said.
“After receiving her resignation letter, the Party regional chair for the National Capital Region communicated to the Commission on Elections today the Party decision to withdraw or revoke the Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) issued to Ms. Lin,” it added.
Lin has reportedly been adopted by the local group Bangon Muli-QC headed by Partido Federal ng Pilipinas mayoralty aspirant and Anakalusugan Partylist Rep. Michael Defensor.
The group is also supporting the presidential bid of PFP candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Lakas-CMD is represented in the 2022 national elections by its vice presidential bet Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio who recently announced her decision to join Marcos in the campaign trail.
