DOH calls on volunteers for 3-day national vaccination drive

The Department of Health (DOH) is calling medical professionals to join the three-day national coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination drive set on Nov. 29 to Dec. 1.
DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said that based on their estimate, about 30,000 vaccination teams should be deployed during the three-day event.
“Projection ito based sa darating na magpapabakuna and target natin na bakunahan...would be 30,000 vaccination teams. Ang isang vaccination team would comprise about five to six individuals. So pag tiningnan natin, nangangailangan siguro tayo ng 160,000 (This projection is based on our target to be vaccinated... we need about 30,000 vaccination teams. A vaccination team would comprise about five to six individuals. So when we look at it, maybe we need 160,000 people),” she said on Friday, Nov. 19.
Vergeire said they are looking for additional health screeners, vaccinators, post-vaccination monitor personnel, health educators, registration personnel, encoder, and data consolidators.
“Nanawagan tayo sa ating medical societies, medical schools, nursing schools, and other healthcare workers schools kung maari tulungan tayo dito sa ating gagawing event (We call on our medical societies, medical schools, nursing schools, and other healthcare workers schools if they can help us with this event),” she said.
“This is not just for the government, this is for the public. ‘Pag mas madami ang bakunado, mas magiging protektado sa sakit at makikita natin na patuloy na bababa ang mga sakit sa ating bansa (If we vaccinate more people, the more we will be protected from the disease and the number of cases in our country will continue to decline),” she added.
