The Philippines revved up its foreign relations with developments in the diplomacy front with Japan, Russia and United States.

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has accepted an offer to chair the political juggernaut Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrat (CMD), while 1Sambayan has geared up its efforts to wage a media campaign that will bolster the protection of presidential aspirant Vice President Leni Robredo’s votes in the May 2022 polls.

Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana tested positive for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), and this has caused quite a stir at the Senate where he personally attended a plenary debate on his agency’s proposed 2022 budget. Senate President Vicente Sotto III said he would likely order the suspension of the debates until the Senate is disinfected, and all those who had close contact with Lorenzana tested.
