'No truth' to Dizon joining team Isko--Malacañang

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles has denied reports that former Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) president Vince Dizon has joined the campaign team of a presidential hopeful in the May 2021 polls.

"There is no truth to the reports circulating that Secretary Vivencio 'Vince' Dizon allegedly joined the campaign team of a presidential aspirant," Nograles said in a statement Thursday morning, Nov. 18.

Prior to this, reports swirled that Dizon--a very visible figure in the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response mechanism of the Duterte administration--had joined the campaign team of Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso.

Nograles didn't mention Domagoso's name.

"Sec. Dizon remains a working member of the Cabinet of the Duterte Administration as Presidential Adviser for COVID-19 response," said Nograles, who is the acting presidential spokesperson.

"Sec. Dizon is focused on the vaccination efforts of government, and not with any political campaign," he further said.

Domagoso is vying for the presidency next year under as standard-bearer of the Aksyon Demokratiko party.
