The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed tax evasion charges against two Makati businesses for alleged refusal to settle tax debts totalling to almost P67 million.
In formal complaints submitted to the Department of Justice, Makati Revenue Regional Director Maridur V. Rosario identified the respondents as Green Money Tree Lending Corporation of Puyat Avenue and Master Sports Corporation of Magallanes Commercial Center.
Maridur recommended to BIR Commissioner Caesar R. Dulay the criminal prosecution after responsible officers of the said reportedly ignored assessment and collection notices to settle the accounts.
They were also included in the charge sheets.
Green Money was slapped the higher deficiency tax of P59.7 million and Master Sports got the balance of P7.1 million. The liabilities covered alleged non-remittance of income and withholding taxes from 2019 and prior years.
