15 houses razed by fire in Davao


DAVAO CITY — A total of 15 houses were razed by fire here Thursday morning, Nov. 18.

In a phone interview, Fire Inspector Shaira Borja, chief of operations of the Davao City Fire District (DCFD) said 15 houses in Purok 17, Barangay 5-A here were totally damaged while one was partially damaged.

"Ongoing pa yung investigation sa cause ng fire, yung source pa lang ang nakuha natin (The investigation on the cause of the fire is still ongoing, as of now, we only know where the source was)," she added.

The fire was reported to have originated at the second floor of the house of one Elsa Agwanta.

The fire was reported at 7:01 am and it was declared under control at 7:46 am. A fire out was declared at 9:03 am, Borja said.

Borja said the initial estimate amount of damages is P1.5 million. Borja added that at least 37 individuals were affected by fire, while no casualty was reported.
