Wait-listed SAP beneficiaries in Caloocan to receive cash aid

Congressional aspirant (2nd District, Caloocan) and PANDAYAN Kalookan's Jacob Cabochan announced on Wednesday, Nov. 17, that Caloocan City residents who were wait-listed for the second tranche of the Department of Social Welfare and Development's (DSWD) Social Amelioration Program (SAP) will now be able to receive their cash aid.

A letter from Caloocan City's Social Welfare Development (CCSWD) stated that the DSWD has already released the list of SAP beneficiaries who have yet to receive their cash aid.

It noted that only beneficiaries who were not able to receive their cash assistance for the second tranche due to reasons other than disqualification to receive the subsidy will be considered for re-processing.

"Natutuwa po tayo na pagkatapos ng mahigit isang taong pakikipaglaban, makukuha na ng mga kapatid natin sa Caloocan ang nararapat na ayuda para sa kanila. Araw-araw tayong gumagawa ng paraan para makarating sa kinauukulan ang isyu ng pamimigay ng SAP (I am extremely happy because our citizens in Caloocan will now be able to receive their much deserved cash assistance after almost a year. We are doing everything we can so that the issues on the cash subsidy will reach the concerned authorities," Cabochan said.

He added that the list was already given by the city's social welfare department to brangay officials in the city.

The Social Amelioration Fund under Republic Act 11469, the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act (Bayanihan 1), mandated that each qualified family should receive P5,000 to P8,000 per month for two months for basic necessities amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The Bayanihan 1 Act aimed to provide assistance to 18 million Filipino families that were greatly affected by implementation of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) last year.
