Bulacan Gov. Daniel R. Fernando on Tuesday, Nov. 16, urged Bulakenyos to stand up for women and children’s rights.
He asked them to participate in the Orange Day Campaign set on Nov. 25, 2021, which marks the beginning of the “18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW)."
Proclamation 1172, Series of 2006, declares November 25 to December 12 of every year as the "18-day campaign to end violence against women in the Philippines and Republic Act No. 10398, Series of 2012, which declares November 25 of every year as the “National Consciousness Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Children."
In accordance with Resolution No. 094, Series of 2018, Bulacan participates and supports Orange Day by encouraging public and private institutions to unite in the campaign to end the widespread and persistent violence against women and children by wearing orange on that day and on every 25th day of the month.
The Provincial Government of Bulacan and Panlalawigang Komisyon para sa Kababaihan ng Bulacan (PKKB Bulacan) have scheduled activities on Orange Day, including the conduct of a seminar with PGB employees on RA 7877 on Anti-Sexual Harassment on November 26, a seminar on RA 11313: Safe Spaces Act for Konsehong Pambayan ng Kababaihan and the public through FB Live Streaming on November 29.
There will also be online legal consultation with Atty. Anicia Marquez for Anti-VAWC Law for Women of Bulacan on December 1 and 3, 2021.
