DepEd commends teachers, school officials for outstanding public service

The Department of Education (DepEd) lauded teachers and school officials who exemplified outstanding professionalism and dedication to public service.

As cited by the Civil Service Commission (CSC), 11 DepEd personnel from different schools and field offices were recognized as some of the country’s exemplary civil servants in the 2020 and 2021 Search for Outstanding Government Workers.

“The stories of our outstanding teachers and officials are only some of the thousands of testaments of dedication and passion of DepEd personnel,” the agency said in a statement.

“Guided by our core values of Maka-Diyos, Maka-tao, Makakalikasan, Makabansa, we are committed to nurturing more professionals who are steadfast to their duties for the Filipino people,” DepEd added.

For their outstanding contributions that directly benefit more than one department of the government, Principal I Jesus Catigan Insilada of Caninguan National High School in Lambunao, Iloilo and Master Teacher I Hadjuria Cornelio Gonzales of Tagabakid Elementary School in Mati City are recipients of the 2020 and 2021 CSC Pagasa Award, respectively.

For exemplary display of ethical behavior in observance of the code of conduct under Republic Act No. 6713, DepEd recipients of 2020 Dangal ng Bayan award are conferred to Principal III Jeremy Atun Cruz of Pagasa National High School in Legazpi City; Teacher I Jeffrey Galera Dimalig of Mate Elementary School, Tayabas, Quezon; Principal I Gregorio Apues Legal of Mary Perpetua E. Brioso National High School, Masbate City; Administrative Aide I Dennis Llanes Suero of the Schools Division Office of DepEd, Vigan City; and Master Teacher I Edgar Tolentino Elago of Jagupit National High School in Agusan del Norte.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Dangal ng Bayan awardees are Master Teacher I Ma. Theresa Hermoso Criste of DepEd-Schools Division Office of Cavite; Teacher II Sherwyne Tubal Manlangit of Cagraray Elementary School in Bato, Catanduanes; Education Program Specialist II Markson Bosquillos Mejia of DepEd-Schools Division Office of Sorsogon City; and Head Teacher III Analyn Climaco Perez of Dina-ut Elementary School in Altavas, Aklan.

“We are proud of your honest, selfless, and excellent service to our stakeholders,” DepEd told the awardees.
