VP survey leader Sotto not changing campaign strategy despite Sara Duterte's challenge

Vice presidential aspirant and Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Tuesday said he is not changing his campaign strategy despite the fact former Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio is now one of his opponents in the upcoming May 2022 elections.

“We will still go on with what we are doing...what our group is doing is naglalatag kami (we are spreading out),” Sotto said in an interview on ANC’s Headstart.

“We have three major political parties in our group, and we are consolidating our forces. Naglalatag kami nationwide nung aming mga organizations (we are spreading out our organizations),” he said.

Sotto, president of the Nationalis Peoples Coalition (NPC) is referring to the Reporma Party whose party chairman is Sen. Panfilo Lacson, who is his running mate.

He also said they are in alliance with the National Unity Party of Ronnie Puno and Rep. Elpidio Barzaga.

“And then we have the Nationalist People’s Coalition of which I am chairman, and again also we are consolidating the forces of NPC. So it’s like a carpet bombing of these three political parties nationwide,” he explained.

As far as he is concerned, Sotto said he considers all other vice presidential candidates, worthy opponents.

“Everyone is a worthy candidate. I think all those who filed their certificates of candidacy are worthy candidates,” he stressed.
