Students' group stresses protection measures amid pilot face-to-face classes
The College Editors Guild of the Philippines (CEGP) reiterated their calls for key protection measures as the pilot face-to-face classes started on Monday, Nov. 15.

In a statement, CEGP Deputy Secretary-General Regina Tolentino cited the Ligtas na Balik Eskwela (LBE) Roadmap, which focuses on safe, accessible, and quality education for everyone.
"Weekly COVID-19 antigen testing must be available for everyone during this testing; at the same time, special vaccination should coincide within these areas," Tolentino stressed.
"It is also important to have proper ventilation inside with two functional fans and filter for air-conditioned ones, and presence of school nurses in case anything happens," she added.
CEGP also vowed to monitor the operation of the pilot face-to-face classes by setting up Bantay Balik-Eskwela, a grievance desk for participating sectors.
"As much as we would like to welcome this, we are also doubling our efforts to remain steadfast and vigilant in its shortcomings, most especially as the administration continues to fund fascism than genuine people's calls," Tolentino continued.
The group also called on President Duterte and Congress to pass the P10,000 Student Aid and Safe School Reopening Bill authored by the Kabataan Partylist.
"While there are schools to operate traditionally, those who failed to do so shall be helped through the 10,000 financial assistance and added funds for their opening."
On Monday, thousands of Filipino children returned to face-to-face classes after nearly two years of school closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
