Two robbers and extortionists were arrested in an entrapment operation by the Pasig City Police Station (PCPS) in a restaurant in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City on Sunday, Nov. 14.
Pasig police chief Col. Roman Arugay identified the arrested suspects as Engelbert Diano Rollenas, 22; and Jayson Soriano Bobis, 41, both residents of Pasig City. Another suspect, identified as Romelito Dela Cruz Fernandez, 23, also a resident of Pasig City, remains at large.
The entrapment operation was conducted following a complaint filed by the victim against the suspects for the “basag kotse” incident in Cainta, Rizal, where a laptop and cellphone were stolen from the victim's car.
The suspects reportedly tried to extort money from the victim in exchange for the stolen laptop and cellphone.
PCPS operatives, led by Lt. Julio Valle Jr. and Lt. Jazon Lovendino organized an entrapment operation.
The suspects initially arranged to meet with the victim in a fast food chain in San Joaquin, Pasig but changed their minds and instead sent the victim to a another fast food branch in Barangay Rosario, Pasig.
The suspects again changed their minds and ordered the victim to proceed to a chicken restaurant in Barangay Ugong, Pasig where they were arrested by the police.
