Azar, Tatsurii shine as Team Secret sweeps Team Queso in Horizon Cup

Heri “Tatsurii” Garcia and Eleazar “Azar” Salle took turns in leading Team Secret to a 2-0 sweep of the Europe-Middle East Asia champions Team Queso in the group stage of the Wild Rift’s Horizon Cup at the Suntec Convention Centre in Singapore on Monday, Nov. 15.

Tatsurii set the tone for the series sweep with an impressive 8-2-5 KDA on his Zed in Game 1 before Azar put on the finishing touches in the series clinching Game 2 with a blistering 13-2-0 KDA on his Fiora

It was a huge win for the Filipinos as they now sit at the second spot of the Group B standings with a 2-1 record behind the group leaders and still unbeaten ThunderTalk Gaming.

With the chance to take the top spot of the standings wand get a bye to the semifinals still within TS' grasps, the Filipinos showed the sense of urgency and wasted no time in defeating Team Queso.

The Filipinos cruised to a dominant 16-8 victory in Game 1 with Tatsurii spearheading the attack.

It was actually a tight contest in the early goings of the first game with TS holding on to a slim 4k gold lead and 8-7 kill advantage.

The Filipinos however broke the game wide open following a huge clash for the Baron which Team Secret prevailed by taking down three champions to the side of TQ.

TS then executed a perfect play at the 18-minute mark of Game 1 as the Filipinos used the Dragon to bait their Spanish foes. It resulted to a huge clash near TQ’s bottom lane as Zed and Trebor on the Fiora joined hands to complete a team ace on TQ and take the first point of the series

It was then Azar’s turn to take the spotlight in Game 2 as he came out firing on his Fiora with an early triple kill at the five-minute mark.

Oozing with confidence, Azar then dove through the back lines of Team Queso during a clash for the second dragon of the game, outplaying and killing four champions from TQ before getting slain for a favorable 4-1 trade for TS.

Azar continued his onslaught, scoring another triple kill in the final clash as the Filipinos easily rolled to a 20-8 victory to close out the series in Game 2.
