PTV News duo named Faces of Success awardees

The tandem of PCOO Undersecretary Rocky Ignacio and Joee Guilas, both news anchors of the People’s Television (PTV) Network’s Ulat Bayan Weekend, bagged the latest Philippine Faces of Success awards for their individual contributions in their respective fields.

Ignacio, the Presidential Communications Operations Office’s head for broadcasting and mass media, was honored for her outstanding contributions in Public Service and Government Communications. A television host and news presenter for over three decades, she presently hosts the government’s daily Laging Handa Public Briefing and moderates the Presidential Press Briefing of Spokesperson/Secretary Harry Roque.

Guilas, on the other hand, is a multi-awarded business communicator and is likewise a respected media man for more than thirty years. Aside from being Resorts World Manila’s Corporate Communications Director and Head, he also anchors the government station’s late-primetime English newscast, PTV News Tonight, and on Saturdays, the primetime Tagalog newscast Ulat Bayan Weekend, with Igancio. Guilas is, of course, the Manila Bulletin’s “Thrillmaker” columnist.

The Philippine Faces of Success Awards recognizes successful Filipinos all over the country and around the world whose stories can inspire others that anybody can achieve their dreams.

Richard Hinola, Publisher of the Philippine Faces of Success Magazine, personally presented Ignacio and Guilas their awards during the Saturday broadcast of their Ulat Bayan Weekend newscast.
