Parts of Luzon, Visayas may experience cloudy skies, rain showers due to 'amihan', shear line, ITCZ

Three weather systems--namely the shear line or tail-end of frontal system, northeast monsoon or "amihan," and the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ)--are currently affecting Luzon and Visayas, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Saturday morning, Nov. 13.
PAGASA said the prevalence of the ITCZ may cause cloudy skies with scattered light to, at times, heavy rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Palawan, Albay, Masbate, and Sorsogon in the next 24 hours.
Residents in these areas are advised to take precautions against possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.
Moreover, cloudy skies with light rains may persist over Batanes and Cagayan due to the shear line and amihan.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains may also prevail over Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley due to the northeast monsoon.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may continue to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA also advised those that may experience severe thunderstorms to remain vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides.
