Negros Oriental remains at 'high risk' for COVID-19 -- OCTA

Negros Oriental is still under "high risk" classification for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), even amid a continuous decline in infections across the country, independent research group OCTA said on Saturday, Nov. 13.
"Although the downtrend is happening all over the country, Negros Oriental remained at high risk ," OCTA research fellow Dr. Guido David said in a tweet.
Based on OCTA's monitoring from Nov. 6 to 12, the healthcare utilization rate (HCUR) and intensive care utilization rate (ICUR) in Negros Oriental were at high risk levels at 74 percent and 81 percent, respectively.
Negros Oriental's positivity rate was at a critical level at 28 percent, far exceeding the World Health Organization standard of 5 percent.
Meanwhile, David pointed out that Metro Manila remains under "low risk" classification for COVID-19.
Metro Manila's seven-day average was 427 cases per day, while its weekly growth rate was at minus (-) 5 percent.
Moreover, the capital region's HCUR, ICUR, and positivity rate are all within the low risk level, while the average daily attack rate (ADAR) or incidence rate remains "moderate" at 3.02 cases daily per 100,000 population.
Meanwhile, OCTA noted that Cavite, Bulacan, Davao del Sur, Laguna, Pampanga, and Cebu are now at "very low risk" classification for COVID-19.
