The Inter-agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has decided to keep Metro Manila under its current alert level 2 status until the end of the month, while Catanduanes will be placed under alert level 4 of the country's new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic response tact.
Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque made the announcement as the government begins the nationwide rollout of the new Alert Levels System (ALS) which was first piloted in the National Capital Region (NCR) last September.
In a statement Saturday evening, Nov. 13, Roque said the following areas will be under alert level 3 from Nov. 17 until the end of the month:
- Batanes
- Quirino
- Nueva Vizcaya
- City of Isabela
- Zamboanga City
The following areas will immediately shift to alert level 2 until Nov. 30, 2021:
- Ilocos Sur
- La Union
- Pangasinan
- Dagupan
- Ilocos Norte
- Tacloban
- Southern Leyte
- Samar (Western Samar)
- Ormoc City
- Eastern Samar
- Northern Samar
- Leyte
- Biliran
- South Cotabato
- Sarangani
- General Santos City
- Sultan Kudarat
- Cotabato (North Cotabato)
Also under alert level 2 for the period of Nov. 15 to 30, 2021 are:
