The Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), the party of presidential aspirant Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos, has adopted Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio of LAKAS-CMD as its candidate for vice president for the 2022 May national elections.
This was after the PFP issued a resolution that adopts Duterte-Carpio as the running mate of Marcos on Saturday, November 13.
"Wherefore, by the powers vested upon the undersigned members of the Executive Committee of the Partido Federal ng Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) under its Constitution and By Laws and existing Resolutions, it is hereby resolved that vice presidential candidate Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio of the LAKAS CMD is hereby adopted by the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) as its candidate for vice president, and hereby indorses her candidacy as the running mate of the PFP’s official candidate for president of the Philippines Senator Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. in the 9 May 2022 national elections,” the PFP statement said.
The PFP did not issue any Certificate of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA), and has no official candidate for vice president.
As Chairman of the PFP, Marcos was given by the party full power and authority to choose his vice presidential running mate, as well as the party's senatorial lineup for next year's elections. (Melvin Sarangay)
